INTRODUCTION
This publication has been designed as a reference
book
for the mechanic conversant with the operation of
Trimatic and also as an instruction medium for the less
experienced.
The Manual provides complete descriptive information

on the principles of operation of the Series 3 Trimatic
Automatic Transmission. Series 3 Trimatics are defined
as those which incorporate a number of design
refinements and were released simultaneously with the
introduction of engines designed to meet the

requirements of ADR 27A (1976 Emission Control).
At the time of publishing this Manual, the following
code transmissions are released and classified as Series
3 assemblies:
KH,KM,KJ,KN,KK,KO,KX,KY,KZ. _____________________

Service Letter for details of transmission code
application in any particular car line.
